Is Obama Pol Pot?

Is Obama Pol Pot? Probably not, but I'm not sure.
Most likely, any radical programs will be watered down by the status quo Congress. You'll recall when the Republican "reformers" took over Congress when Clinton was president, pretty much the only thing that changed was that the bribes went to Republicans instead of Democrats. Congress is happy with the way things are, except for a few things.
What are those few things? Congress will want higher taxes so they can have more power. Obama won't oppose that. Congress will want an end to secret ballots in union elections. Obama won't oppose that. Congress will want to revive the Fairness Doctrine in order to kill Conservative talk radio. Obama won't oppose that.
And, what if he did want to oppose them. The President of the United States may be the most powerful man in the world, but I am reminded of a story about President Eisenhower. Eisenhower recalled that when he was a general, he would say, "Do this", and people would run around and things would happen. But, when he became president, he would say, "Do this", and people would run around and nothing would happen. The federal bureaucracy and Congress have their own agendas. Obama won't be able to successfully push his programs unless they don't threaten the power of either.
So, Congress will enact confiscatory taxes, end secret ballots, and suppress free speech. Can President Obama save us? Probably not.
